"Jo Romano transitioned from a high level-paying job in the Judiciary to a Substance Abuse Prevention human service position to find her life and work balance. Quite simply she was a single parent and wanted a life where she could tend to her children’s needs and enjoy motherhood. Her journey from one job to another was a hugh success and she did it in little time. She knows more about creating a successful transition from one job to another than anyone on the planet. She lived it.
If you want to begin to transition out of a job you are tolerating to a job you love, that meets your passion, that pays well, or wishes somehow someway you can really make the transition, - Jo is the person to show you how to do it and do it quick." |

Your excellent listening and communication skills guided our coalition to success
You are always there to suggest a solution, or to point one to the
resources, for whatever may be the problem…You can be relied on to follow through with what you commit to. You are a wonderful facilitator and can sort out the important points in what to others may seem like a jumble of thoughts, issues, and points. |

I was floundering for answers and direction. Jo gave me the tools and confidence to find those answers that allowed me to find a direction to follow… the time, energy, effort and money you spend with Jo will be returned to you ways you can never imagine. |

Jo, you are such a valuable asset to those of us struggling in the substance abuse field and personally I feel like you've provided me with tools to find the strength to continue! I'm very grateful and blessed to have you in my circle. |

I had been struggling with a childhood experience for more than 30 years and in one half hour conversation with Jo she helped me reframe my past and start on the path to healing and forgiving myself. The sense of freedom I have now is immeasurable! Jo's warmth, compassion, encouragement, and humor are amazing to experience. .I can say without a doubt that she has been one of the biggest influences in my life to date. |

I thought I was open minded but one little talk we had, and I found out about myself that I am not as open as I think I am. To be close minded to other people's way of being is something that I would never have realized about myself, but I was able to observe my train of thoughts and realize where I get "stuck" sometimes...and that could have taken years of therapy for me to have found out…
I was under the impression that to do work that helps others and that had any meaning would meanto be underpaid .You showed to me I have a great value and I am finally learning to stop "selling myself” so cheap. |

Your training was fabulous on June 7th.. Seriously, my only regret is that we didn’t book 2 days for the training. All of the CCs have had very positive comments, and are really looking forward to the follow-up conference calls that you all scheduled. |

| It was because of the insights she offered me that I left a job that made me miserable. I felt that I was trapped in the job with no option to get out and she so gracefully helped me realize I had other options. I left that job without looking back and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. |

I cannot believe how strong and healthy I feel in the midst of all this change. I have said it before but I could really be a mess right now but instead I am embracing change and the new opportunities it is bringing into my life.Continued thanks for your help in my creating changes for my healthy and happy new life.
My job for myself is to exercise everyday so I can never neglect it or not have time for it and the big surprise is that I love it!! I love the way I feel when I am walking and working out. It makes my mind feel so clear and all the sugar carvings are gone!!!! What's up with that!! I used to be a complete sugarholic; seriously I have done so much damage to my body because of the high sugar and fat empty calories. I could not get through a day without junk food and now, today, it doesn't cross my mind. I am grateful for vegetables and fruit and protein and lots of water.
Therapy has never worked for me but this life coaching should be mandatory for everyone. Thank you so much.

…I enjoy a great relationship with my daughter, and thanks to your coaching classes it’s getting even better.
For example,I have seen how “discipline vs. punishment” works. Recently, it resulted in both my and my child's ability to calm ourselves. After we talked about what she thought was different. My daughter commented on how I remained calm (no matter how much she pushed J), and as a result, she worked on calming herself vs. “getting out her anger” (which meant getting quiet vs. hitting pillows or the like. I focused on modeling discipline and remembering that she still needed hugging and someone to stop her from spinning out of control, not meet her in her drama moment. Thank you for helping to make parenting an even more rewarding and enjoyable experience. |

Training and she was excellent! Not only did she set the tone but came with a wealth of relevant information, she was able to walk in and fit right in. |

Jo is a gifted teacher and the participants connected, many of them deeply, with her teaching. We spent extra, and valuable, time on introductions thanks to Jo, so participants made personal connections to the group at the outset. |

You look at problems as opportunities not as something to be avoided. You are realistic, and generally hopeful. You have a strong commitment/passion for what you are doing.
You are very good at getting at what is important, and ignoring that which is unimportant. Not to mention that you are good at what you do. You are also resourceful, and have lots of "connections." |
Craig,
State Economic Services Director |
Jo develops a superior rapport with clients, listens deeply to concerns, what is said and what is not said, and partners with them to make a plan for success. Her clients benefit greatly from her coaching. |

…it is much more satisfying to be in the process of striving to attain your goals than to just keep them in your head or your heart without giving them a chance.
So I want to thank you for supporting me in my process...for being a strong, intelligent, compassionate woman in my life who gives me such unconditional, non-judgmental support and guidance.

I liked the atmosphere that you created, and the way that you afford equal value to each person's input…The training was very encouraging to me; it made me want to go back to work. I like the teaming concept that calls for non-hierarchically oriented decision-making, and this formalized how to build and maintain that process. The workshop wasn't "fluff and stuff"; it was real appraisal and suggestions about how to develop an effective workplace atmosphere in a collegial and congenial manner. Also, and very importantly, it was a wake-up call to refrain from scapegoating, something to which I fall prey from time to time, and which I know can demoralize and undermine a team. |
Kathy Aiken,
Developmental Disability Coordinator |
I know of no way to put this that would be as descriptive, I found the experience to have been one that was not just another “bullshit” training. It dealt with concepts and skills that can be directly and immediately put into practice as we do the work we do. |
